Amanda Lehman is the Founder and Director of Take Action Portland. Motivated by her love for volunteering, Amanda started TAP as an alternative way to engage others through meaningful volunteer experiences. Studies show that volunteering can make people happier, and Amanda is dedicated to making volunteer opportunities accessible to anyone that wants to make a positive impact in their community. In addition to her work with Take Action Portland, Amanda works full-time as a Project Director for the Sustainability Practice of Thornton Tomasetti. As a high-performance building consultant, she works directly with architects, owners and engineers to optimize overall building design and performance. Amanda is a volunteer for the Emerging Professionals committee with the Maine Chapter of the US Green Building Council and a volunteer with the Community Bicycle Center in Biddeford, ME. Additionally, she recently received a scholarship to partake in a semester-long Leadership Intensive course with the Institute for Civic Leadership and anticipates completing the course this Spring. She has been a Fellow with the ISSC since January 2013.
